DOOL: E.J. calls Melanie's bluff; Phillip and Brady at odds; Lucas takes a drink

Wednesday 2/18; E.J. meets with Melanie and says that he knows she talked to Phillip and doesn’t trust her. He calls her a child and she says she knows what she’s doing. E.J. smirks and tells her that she is disposable because now that he has the first half of the formula his team can crack the code for the second half. As he starts to leave she says she’ll do anything he wants to prove her loyalty – he walks away without signing any documents and I must say I loved the look of despair on Melanie’s face.
Victor asks Phillip about the Alternative Fuel Project and he says he has it handled but right now is more worried about the Kaiser deal. Victor tells Phillip that Brady closed that deal and Phillip blows up stating that was HIS account and why doesn’t Victor just give Brady his office while he’s at it. Victor tells Phillip that he has also asked Brady to oversee the AFP. Phillip wants one more chance, Victor tells him fine, but one more mistake and Melanie won’t be the only one looking for a new job.
Brady runs into E.J. and asks about Nicole, E.J. tells him it’s none of his business and Phillip, who saw them talking, comes over to Brady and wants to know what he’s up to. Phillip thinks he was talking to E.J. about AFP and Brady claims he wasn’t. Phillip tells him to back off or HE will be the one looking for a new job. Phillip then goes to the DiMera mansion and confronts E.J.
Daniel/Chloe/Lucas/Maggie
Daniel calls Chloe and says that Kate’s final test is today and if it shows that she has gone into remission then they can leave town that night. After she hangs up she sees Ally and runs over to her. Lucas tells Ally to go see a friend and tells Chloe that he doesn’t want Chloe to see Ally again. Lucas tells Chloe that he wants to know the truth why she broke up with him, he tells her he still loves her and Chloe says she still loves him too. Lucas is tired of the cliches and leaves. Chloe sits on a bench and starts to cry when a priest asks if she is okay.He listens to her problems and tries to offer some advise.
In the meantime,Maggie sees Kate with Daniel and tells Kate that if Lucas needs to talk to have him call her. Kate says she’s not giving up on the wedding yet and leaves. As Daniel starts to leave Maggie stops him. Maggie tells him that Chloe swore up and down that she was going to break it off with Daniel, guess she hasn’t done that. She says that Lucas is in pain because of him and Lucas is HER family. Daniel says the and Chloe aren’t ashamed. Maggie asks if he’s told Kate and then warns him “hell hath no fury as a Kate Roberts scorned”.
Kate goes to Victor and after Victor tells Kate that Chloe is nothing but a whore, she defends Chloe and tells Victor that she’s going to make things right between Chloe and Lucas. Victor asks Kate about Daniel and she admits she still has feeling for him. Victor advises her to tell him so Kate sees Daniel and wants to go back to his place. He tells her there is something he needs to tell her, of course, she thinks it’s about the test results.
Luca goes to the Brady Pub and stares at the liquor bottles. He asks for a Bloody Mary when Melanie comes in and asks if he’s Phillip’s brother. She tells him she needs some advise and he tells her to leave him alone, he’s not in the mood.
Lucas gets his drink and says he can’t do it and goes to get his cell phone to call Aunt Maggie. He pulls out the engagement ring and takes a drink.
Melanie sees Maggie and tells her about running into Lucas and couldn’t believe he was having a Bloody Mary at 8:30 in the morning. Maggie, alarmed, tries calling Lucas.
