Tuesday 2/3; Mallet confesses about his past of being a one time hit man. He didn’t tell her before because he was so ashamed and tried to block it out of his mind. He admits that the man he worked for was Griggs, the man who kidnapped Marina. He tries to explain things and says he’s not that man anymore. Marina walks away. They both end up at the adoption agency. He starts to explain about not returning the phone calls when Marina interrupts and explains that there is just so much paperwork they put on adoption couples and that they are cops and protect people and doesn’t that stand up for anything? She really sticks up for Mallet. Back at their house Marina tells him that she appreciated the honesty – he could have said anything but the truth, she has faith that their marriage will work and that they will survive.
Coop calls Beth and she says she’s going to end things with Alan today. As Coop is telling Buzz and Frank, Blake comes in and says there’s a part at Towers for Coop’s new book. Coop is livid! She says that if anyone asks he can drop a hint or two that the “older” woman is her.
Alan wants to take Beth to Towers for lunch and their talk. When they walk in he gets a phone call and Coop does a reading from his book “Affair of the Heart“, Beth tries to signal Coop but he doesn’t see her. Alan gets off the phone and is quite upset when he listens. Blake, who is so sure that SHE is the older woman, shows the cover of the book. It looks like Blake with long hair, but Beth thinks it looks like her.
Olivia and Natalia chaperon a field trip for Emma’s school at the landfill. Natalia isn’t sure that both should go because of all the talk about “My Two Mommies”. In the meantime, Doris had called Allen requesting his help with the governor about a commission that she would like to get. He told her he had too many other things on his mind, one that his granddaughter, Emma, was being raised by what some people that were 2 lesbians. Doris calls the Superintendent of Schools. Doris sees the website of “My Two Mommies”, and because she wants to be on the commission thinks of a way she can make it work for her benefit.
After the field trip Natalia turns on the television and her and Olivia see a press conference by Doris who is talking about a non-traditional family that is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. She claims that she is there to protect the children from propogand for that type of lifestyle.
