DOOL: Chloe's uncomfortable lunch with Kate; Melanie wants money; Sami wants E.J. reined in

Friday 3/6; Kate is waiting at the Pub for Chloe when Stefano joins her. Kate tells Stefano that she is going to squish Chloe like a bug. Stefano is curious as to why Nicole and Sami are lunching together. After Stefano leaves, Chloe comes in and apologizes for being late. Chloe shows Kate a picture of the wedding dress she picked out. Kate is surprised, as she thought she and Chloe would go looking together. Chloe explains that she went with Nicole to help her find her wedding dress, and it was just spontaneous that Chloe decided to choose her own gown too. Kate makes a veiled comment about young people being spontaneous and acting on their feelings without thinking of the consequences – Chloe is definitely uncomfortable.
Daniel comes into the Pub, and Kate calls him over to get his opinion on Chloe’s wedding dress. Kate says that Chloe doesn’t have any family in town, and maybe Daniel could act like her surrogate father or uncle. Daniel says the dress looks fine and goes to the bar.
Kate says, “Boy, that’s a man who can really hide his feelings.” Chloe says, “What?” Kate says, “Oh please, Chloe, do you really think I don’t know what’s going on?” Then she says that it was obvious that Daniel didn’t like the dress. Kate tells Chloe not to be uncomfortable, she thinks they can find something more flattering for Chloe’s figure. Then, Kate tells Chloe how wonderful Daniel is in bed! (I thought Chloe was going to choke on her drink!)
Melanie goes to see E.J., wanting the rest of her money. He says she is not getting another penny. Part of the contract says that the deal is null and void if he doesn’t continue with the project, and E.J. informs Melanie that he is not going through with it. He also tells her that she has to return the advance that he gave her.
Over at Titan, Phillip calls Stephanie to his office, and plants a kiss on her. Stephanie pulls away and says she can’t forget what happened. Phillip says that he can’t get her out of his head and asks for a second chance. Just as Stephanie is softening, Melanie comes barging into his room. Phillip threatens to throw her out. She bats her eyes as only the naive Melanie can do, and says she just learned the E.J. is backing out of the project, so now she and Titan can go ahead with it. He reminds Melanie of her corporate espionage, and Titan, not she, will go ahead with the project – does she want security to escort her out, or will she leave on her own?
When Melanie doesn’t leave, Phillip threatens her with legal action. Melanie leaves, and Phillip says to Stephanie, “What a work of art.” Stephanie agrees and says that Melanie is just like Phillip – a work of art. Stephanie tells Phillip that he is just like his father, Victor: very shrewd and controlling. Stephanie says her father is a tough man, but he wouldn’t kick someone when they were already down.
After they go round and round, Phillip tells Stephanie there seem to be some computer problems, and can she help?
Sami and Nicole
At the Pub, Nicole sees Sami holding Sydney and demands that Sami give her her baby NOW. Sami gives Sydney to Nicole and says she would never hurt a baby. Nicole says, “No, you’d just….” and doesn’t finish her sentence. Nicole goes to take Syndey home and Sami says that they need to talk. Nicole tells Sami to get out of the way and Sami, all innocent, says, “Don’t you want to know why E.J. was so late coming home last night?” That stops Nicole in her tracks and she sits down.
Sami tells Nicole about E.J. butting into her life and that she doesn’t want E.J. in her life any more than Nicole does. She tells Nicole that she saw E.J. at the police station that morning and him saying that he just wants to protect Sami. Nicole can’t believe that E.J. didn’t come home to his daughter because he was protecting Sami.
Sami tells Nicole that they need to work together and when Nicole turns her down, Sami says that she has some leverage. Nicole wants to know what. Sami says that she just wants E.J. to leave her alone and it would be in Nicole’s best interest to insure that happened. Seeing that Nicole isn’t interested in what Sami is saying, she tells Nicole about E.J. seeing Sami and Rafe kissing, and that E.J. went ballistic. Sami tells Nicole that what she and E.J. had before is still there. Nicole says, “In your dreams bitch.”
Over at the DiMera’s, Stefano tells E.J. about seeing Nicole and Sami having lunch together, and he wonders what they might have been talking about. E.J. isn’t concerned.
Nicole comes home and asks E.J. just what concern is it of his who Sami is kissing!
At Titan, Stephanie looks at the file that Phillip was concerned about, and says there is a problem. At the DiMera mansion, E.J. is looking at his laptop and tells Stefano that everything is going as planned: Melanie went running to Phillip.
Stephanie tells Phillip that their database has been wiped out.
Stefano calls his henchman and tells him to to go back to the convent and find out why Nicole was there.
