YR: Victor proposes; Katherine recognizes Billy; Kevin is the prime suspect

Tuesday 3/10; Ashley tells Victor how happy she is that he had his vasectomy reversed last year. She considers her pregnancy a miracle because she was told she could never conceive again after losing her last child. Ashley then starts to panic and fears that she might lose this baby too. She is in tears; Victor tries comforting her and tells her he wants to marry her. Ashley says that it’s not the right time, she is worried about what his children will think.
Estella, the housekeeper, comes in and asks if they need anything. Victor takes a phone call, and Ashley questions Estella about a gift that Sabrina had given to Victor that seems to be missing. Estella is offended that Ashley thinks she might have taken it and says that she doesn’t know anything about what happened to the gift. Victor returns, Estella goes to her room, but overhears Victor asking Ashley again to marry him.
Katherine’s memory
Esther and Amber go to see Katherine, and while Katherine is delighted to see them, she tells them that it seems like she has forgotten the last few months and asks what has happened. Amber tells Katherine that everyone thinks she is dead. Billy goes into the room, and Katherine immediately calls him Billy and says, “When did you get back from Hong Kong?” Billy looks confused and Esther whispers to him that Katherine has no short-term memory. Billy sits with Katherine and, after they talk for awhile, he calls her Grandma. Cane comes in and Katherine calls out his name.
Billy tells Cane not to make trouble; Katherine says she can talk to Cane without Billy’s help. Cane starts to ask Katherine questions that are too recent for Katherine to remember, so he starts to leave. Katherine hollers at him and says, “Don’t you think I want to remember?” Cane tells her that if it is money she wants, to tell him how much, he’ll pay – and she is never to bother his mother or anyone in the family and again. He leaves.
Billy finds Cane in the hall and tells him that he has known his grandmother all of his life, Cane has only known her for two years, and the woman in that room is his grandmother, Katherine Chancellor.
Phyllis and Nick run into Jack
Nikkie goes to babysit Summer, when Nick gets a phone call about the explosion. Nick and Phyllis are concerned about Nikkie; it’s been a tough day with learning about Ashley’s pregnancy, and now the explosion. Nikki says she is fine and insists they go out and enjoy themselves. While they are gone, Estella comes by and tells Nikki about Ashley’s accusations and that Victor proposed to Ashley.
Nick and Phyllis are at Crimson Lights and she sees Jack. He is verbally sparring with Phyllis when Nick comes over. He tells Jack that their families are about to become closer. When Jack asks why, Nick tells him about Ashley being pregnant – this does not sit will with Jack, although he claims he is happy for Ashley.
Prime suspect
After Det. Wallace shows the picture of Kevin holding the bomb, Esther remembers that Kevin was at the motel, talking to Clint. Michael, Gloria, and Jana say they have to find Kevin before the police do. Daniel says Kevin has been wound tight lately. Gloria says that if Kevin is on the edge, who knows what he could do. Everyone starts accusing everyone else, when Det. Wallace comes in with a search warrant for the coffee house and Jana and Kevin’s residence. He says Kevin is their prime suspect.
Billy goes home to tell Jack about Katherine, but Jack first tells Billy about Ashley being pregnant. Billy then tells Jack that he believes the woman really is Katherine.
Cane tells Jill that the woman is definitely NOT Katherine. <sigh>
