GL Spoiler: Phillip's Guilty – sort of!

On Tuesday, April 7th, Phillip is found guilty of kidnapping his children years ago and is escorted to the state penitentiary. This really doesn’t surprise him, even though he has tried to make amends; he figured he would have to go away for awhile.
While in prison, Phillip writes a letter to his children asking forgiveness. Meanwhile, Beth tries to make an appeal, to no avail.
Tensions flare when Alan admits that he bribed the judge to make sure Phillip was locked up for good. Later, Alan is shocked when Phillip returns home a free man. Phillip explains the governor pardoned him because of the governor’s surprising connection to Phillip’s son, James.
I can see that Alan is not going to take this news lightly and that there will be an ongoing power struggle between father and son.
