#Y&R Cast News: Is Nikki out?

Melody Thomas Scott, who has played Nikki for over three decades, has reached an impasse with her contract negotiations on Y&R.
Every actor has been asked to take a pay cut when their contract came up; Scott didn’t think it would happen to her. When the last offer was refused by Scott, Y&R reportedly informed her she would be put on recurring, and working without a contact. That didn’t set well with her either!
Jess Walton (Jill) found out during her contact talks that Y&R isn’t playing around. Thankfully, Walton did eventually re-sign.
The reality is, in this economy and with the precarious situation of soaps, all of the soaps are taking drastic measures to stay on the air, and actors’ salaries have to be slashed.
My opinion? Would you like to be working for less, or not working at all and getting NOTHING?
