Last week, Phillip admitted to Nina that he is gay and always has been, and then just left the room. Now, Phillip is hesitant about being honest with his mother and Katherine; he’s afraid they will reject him.

Kay is being released from the hospital, and Phillip’s family and loved ones are arguing about why he intentionally hurt them by pretending that he died. Through it all, Nina remains mum until Billy voices an unflattering opinion about his brother. Nina jumps to Phillip’s defense without mentioning the real reason; however, Jill senses that Nina knows something.

Later, Nina encounters Phillip at the Chancellor mansion and urges him to come clean with Jill and Kay, then allow them to deal with it. When Kay comes home from the hospital, and with Jill present, Phillip reveals the real reason he left Genoa City.

Jill is fine with his homosexuality but is furious that he didn’t tell them twenty years ago. Kay is also okay with it but is the unforgiving one as far as Phillip staging his death. Naturally, Jill and Kay blame each other for driving him out of town.

A contrite Cane then arrives to say goodbye; he’s leaving Genoa City. Just then someone else shows up…
