Last week, Eric and Ridge plotted a scheme to wrest the company back from Bill. They want to create a substandard collection, expecting it to fail. They are sure that the board of directors of Spencer Publications will advise Bill to get rid of Forrester, and Eric will then buy back his family heritage.
This week, Katie and Eric hold a press conference to announce Eric’s triumphant return to Forrester. Afterwards, Eric is shown his new office, which happens to be downstairs in the shipping department with Thorne. Eric doesn’t get upset and acts like he’s perfectly okay with the arrangement.
Naturally, Bill is suspicious of Eric’s enthusiasm, but all of the other employees are thrilled that their founder has returned. When Eric presents his latest designs for approval–big shoulder pads and gold lame–Bill and Katie aren’t sure. Eric tells them it’s trend-setting and very retro and that’s why it’ll sell. They finally accept Eric’s opinion and Eric is sure he’ll soon get his company back.
Why do I get the feeling that this is going to backfire on Eric and Ridge, and that the collection will sell like hotcakes?
