Alison Sweeney (Sami) opens up about the exit of beloved co-star Bryan R. Dattilo (Lucas), who has finished his run in Salem.
“I’m so sad that the producers have decided to let go of Bryan Dattilo,” she says. “I shot our last scenes together and I didn’t even know it. I am so upset, not just for me, and the cast, crew and DAYS fans who will miss him tremendously, but for Sami, too. They’ve been a major part of each other’s lives for 17 years, and at this point, I have no idea how they’ll explain his absence, but it will, without question, be a major void in Sami’s life.”

It will be weird not to have him there since he’s been on almost the same amount of time as Allison. I think she was on just a little bit before him. So I guess he’s just going to disappear one day which is just stupid since Lucas is such a huge part of her life since he’s not just the father of her son but he’s also her best friend.
