Last week, after listening to her unborn twins’ heartbeats, Lily learns of her chemo-mate, Harry’s death.

Lily is sad because she was really close to Harry – he made chemo less painful because he was so funny and charming. However, this has given her a dose of reality – when you have cancer you can die. You can try to stay positive, but hearing that Harry died, Lily is scared. It caught her off-guard.

Cane can tell that Lily is really affected by this and asks Emily to talk to her. Every time Lily starts to ask, “What if I’m not here,” Emily says, “You can’t think like that.” Emily’s encouraging words make Lily feel better – she thinks she can get through this; she is strong and young.

Later, Lily gets a letter from Harry and realizes that he wrote it just before he died. Cane reads the letter to her, and Harry’s words encourage her to keep living and know that things happen, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s going to happen to her.

This has to be a strange storyline (cancer/surrogacy) to play as the actress is pregnant with her first child, due April 26th.
