#DOOL Spoiler: Melanie is shot

After Vivian learns that the poisoned head comb was replaced, and that Melanie is still alive, she returns to the Kiriakis mansion, intent on taking care of Melanie herself. At the wedding reception, Vivian tells Melanie that she needs to talk to her about her mother, and takes her to the roof. Carly comes flying in with a gun and sees that Vivian is about to hit Melanie with an iron rod.
Carly aims the gun at Vivian. Melanie, thinking that Carly has finally lost her marbles, jumps in front of Vivian and takes the bullet. Carly is devastated by the turn of events and races to try to save Melanie.
Carly is taken into police custody but has to go to the hospital along with the critically-wounded Melanie, because she injured her arm at the warehouse. At the hospital, Bo hears what happened and assumes that Vivian is to blame, but Victor tells him it was Carly who shot Melanie. Carly rants that it was never her intent to shoot Melanie, it was to kill Vivian! Therefore, she basically incriminates herself in front of the Mayor, the Police Commissioner – everyone. Bo gets it, but he’s forced to arrest her.
Bo posts Carly’s bail and informs her that Melanie survived the surgery but has yet to wake up. Being a doctor, she knows if Melanie stays in a coma too much longer, there’s a chance she won’t wake up, and if she does, she may have brain damage.
Bo tells Carly she can’t go near Melanie due to her terms of release, but Carly won’t be deterred and sneaks into her room. She begs Melanie to wake up.
Melanie hears her voice and wakes up – how thrilled will she be to see the woman who shot her in her room?
